Dum Spiro Spero

The Latin expression in the title translates to, “While I Breathe, I Hope”.

It represents a fierce determination and willingness to remain optimistic.

I read something alarming about what’s happening inside the major scientific organizations, about people weeping at conferences, over the fate of these institutions. It’s scary. Things are falling apart quickly, as funds are pulled, jobs are lost and whole agencies are gutted. It sounds desperate and grim.

But then I look at history. Einstein was a refugee. He was targeted as a German Jew by Hitler, who put a price on his head. He and his wife fled to Princeton where he founded the modern day International Rescue Committee, was active in the civil rights movement, continued his vital work and inspired generations of scientists in his wake.

He introduced the concept of Quantum Entanglement, while having tea with his esteemed colleagues in New Jersey. Now I’m not a scientist but the easiest explanation I found for that concept is “when two particles link together in a certain way, so that no matter how far apart they are in space, their state remains the same.” In essence, “if something happens to one particle, it effects all the other particles entangled with it .. no matter how far apart they are.”

Now, I’m often talking to my friends about a similar idea, that of collective consciousness. The idea that if we raise our vibrations high enough, collectively (even though we are apart in space), we can create enough of a positive vibration (with like minded people all over the world) to counteract and dispel darker energies. I believe that. It seems to me there is reason to hope.

On a lighter note, Einstein introduced his two colleagues in my favorite movie “IQ”, with the preface, “two of the greatest minds in history and amongst them, they can’t change a lightbulb.”

May peace ☮️ prevail.

With love and light, Marina 💕🙏🏻☀️
