Well, puppies are fun but they’re exhausting! Atleast it’s the kind of tired you feel after a long swim or a day at the beach. It’s a contented tired. A “worth it” tired. Meanwhile, March has turned into April, the rain and snow having given way to a slightly warmer cloudy climate and day to day life continues.
While walking with my Bella, watching her jump and frolic around, I noticed two cardinals in the tree above. That was a very good sign and I felt like my mom and dad were smiling down on me. Cardinals are a spiritual symbol for many. It’s an excellent time to tune out the chaos of the political arena and get grounded in the natural world.
Trees sometimes live for thousands of years. The trees where I live are a few hundred years old. Trees have a larger perspective. They have witnessed all the many highly turbulent changes and fabulous new beginnings.. the births and deaths, the declines and the rebirths. Trees sway in strong winds and they sink their roots deeper and wider in order to grow, to nourish and connect with their network. We can learn a lot from these life affirming stalwarts.
